What Transpired Between Buhari And I In Saudi Arabia—Galadima

What Transpired Between Buhari And I In Saudi Arabia

OpenLife Nigeria reports that a chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Alhaji Buba Galadima, has opened up on the political acrimony between him and President mohammadu Buhari.

The two leading political heavy weights from northern Nigeria have come a long way as political comrades.

Indeed, the two were in the vanguard of the team that upstaged People’s Democratic Party, PDP from federal government in 2015.

Before 2015, Galadima was the National Secretary of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, a party formed in the run-up to the 2011 national elections as a leading platform for Buhari to emerge President of Nigeria but that didn’t scale through.

However, shortly after winning the presidency in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, things literally fell apart between the two old friends.
Galadima, 75, who hails from Yobe State, north eastern Nigeria felt betrayed by Buhari’s change of attitudes.

Among other things, Galadima who graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, reckoned that Buhari’s poor attention to education especially to the highly dis advantaged northern Nigeria was a sad reward for the supports they collectively pushed to make him defeat then incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Speaking on Arise TV Wednesday morning, Galadima, yet again, expressed disatisfaction over Buhari’s scorecard.
He noted that Buhari has taken Nigeria backward 100 times from where he met it in 2015.
From education to infrastructure and security including agriculture, Galadima scored Buhari and the APC government zero.

The NNPP stalwart said:
“Buhari has taken Nigeria 100 times backwards.
One can not travel in Nigeria. There is high level insecurity everywhere.
Yes, Buhari is not leaving Nigeria where he meant it. Nigeria was better than this when Buhari came in. Naira exchange was N157 to a dollar but now, it is almost N800 to a dollar,” he lamented.

Speaking further, Galadima recounted his recent Mecca experience with President Buhari.
He disclosed that he shunned Buhari just like a normal human being would a leper.
He explained that they were both in Saudi Arabia recently for the Lesser Hajj adding that the hotel he lodged was just a few distance from where Buhari stayed.
Some people suggested I should visit and say hello to him. I refused. I didn’t go to see him because he betrayed the confidence most of us reposed in him,” he said.
Galadima stressed that Buhari has cannibalized electoral process in a manner that the country has become the butt of mockery at local and international scenes.
“Buhari has left Nigeria in bad taste. One can not win election on the basis of credibility but on the basis of money,” he pointed out.
