The Cause of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s Death— Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos

The Cause of Senator Ifeanyi

OpenLife Nigeria reports that the sudden death of Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has elicited reactions across the country and beyond.

The Nigerian politician, entrepreneur and businessman who served as the Senator representing Anambra South senatorial district from 2019 until his death on 27 July 2024 was the CEO of Capital Oil, which he founded in 2001.

Speaking on the death Monday afternoon in Lagos, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos, paid glowing tribute to the man he described as his “Friend.”

Sir, last week, just after the world was shocked about the death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, in which you issued a condolence press statement, news came in again that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has died in London. As a frontline Igbo son in your capacity as the President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, how did you receive the news of Ifeanyi Ubah’s death?

Well, it was another heavy shock. Heavy trees are fallen in Igbo land.

While Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s death can be described as a ripe age, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s own is difficult to explain. It is very painful.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos….pays glowing tributes to late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah

My condolences to his immediate family because all of us of Igbo extraction are his family including all his friends in Nigeria and across the world especially our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who are both working together in APC and all the Distinguished Senators.

But there are many comments on social media alleging that late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was responsible for Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest during Buhari’s regime. Mr. President, what is your response?

Well, I expected this question from you. I am not a witness to any of these accusations and I cannot answer to a dead person because Senator Ifeanyi Ubah is no more alive. Therefore, the accusations is null and void.
That is the problem we have in Nigeria.

If anybody dies, either in accident or through any sickness even in the hospital where doctors are taking care of the person with information that are attached with the person’s death , some Nigerians will still go ahead and tell people that the dead person was a wicked person or a ritualist or 419.

Some Nigerians will judge a dead person before God.

But I always remember a saying from the old people that instead of a man to go after a widow, it is better he goes after the one whose husband is still alive so that when the comes to fight you, you will know exactly what the man is up to.

But a dead husband can come when you are asleep and strike you to death for going after his wife he left behind.

However, on the comments some people are making about Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who is dead, there is nothing to worry about.

Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah making a point on the floor of the Senate

No matter the negative things you hear about Ifeanyi Ubah on social media, he is not alive to defend himself.
As some are talking good about him, you also expect some who see his death as opportunity for blackmailing to be talking bad about him.

And please, my people, especially Ndigbo, stop running your brother down whether alive or death. You cannot make any profit out of this in life rather, you make yourself more irrelevant in the society.

Ndigbo, please, don’t mock the dead no matter how the offended you or the jealousy you attached on the person when he or she was alive.

I trust Ifeanyi Ubah. When he was alive, if anyone made such a blackmailing statement against him, the person must prove it beyond doubt before the person will be freed from the problem.

Up till now, Americans have not proved what killed Michael Jackson.

But it is only in Nigeria I see that when someone buys a bicycle and the smallest Yamaha generator and the person is knocked down by a vehicle and died, some members of his family will nail him a ritualist by saying that they are surprised about how he got rich over night.

Bonfrere Jo, Olympic gold winning coach, discussed the establishment of football academy with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah before the Senator died in London

They will also say that the dead man does not even have a N100k balance in his bank account.

My question here is that is it that God who created the world cannot bless someone? Some Nigerians are very funny.

Those who are talking about Senator Ifeanyi Ubah have never had any close contact with him.
Nobody is perfect before God.

Yes, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah could have offended some people and some people must have also offended him too. He was my friend when he was alive.\

Ifeanyi Ubah was a giver. Very few people can match Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in giving in Nigeria.

And such man, whenever he lacks, whatever is in his possession, whether his own or someone’s own, he will use it as a defence but he will definitely pay back. He was a man with a large heart.

Those who are peddling these stories, do they know that that they are tarnishing the image of the wife and the children at this early stage of mourning their father and husband? Death is inevitable.

Those who are saying negative things about Senator Ifeanyi Ubah should remember that they will also die. It comes all of a sudden without announcing date and time.

Now, there was a business that was about to kick off between I , Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and Friday Kujah {Soccer Ambassador} including Atlanta ’96 Olympics winning coach, Bonfrere Jo.
We are all friends.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos and National Patron of Nigeria Football Supporters Club has been passionate about the football academy

The business is to establish a football Academy in Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s stadium formerly known as Gabros FC stadium in Nnewi, Anambra State.

On the 9th of July, Bonfrere Jo flew in from Holland to Nigeria. I picked him up at the Murtala Mohammed Airport , Ikeja and lodged in a hotel in Ikoyi.

On July 11, he flew to Abuja to meet Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Bonfrere and Ifeanyi Ubah went to Nnewi to inspect the stadium.

After few day, they came back to Lagos where we had our final discussions on the football academy.
Thereafter, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah flew to London on July 22 while Bonfrere flew back to Holland on July 23.

That was my last contact with my friend, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Above all, the cause of his death is that God brought him to this world and took him back at His own time.

So, the prayers we should be praying for him is that God who brought him to the world and took him should give him a good position in His kingdom and show mercy to his family so that his children will progress more than him and finish some of the unfinished jobs that their father started, Amen.
