OpenLife reports that Nigerian musician Vector Tha Viper (Olanrewaju Ogunmefun) paid tribute to the late Sound Sultan (Olanrewaju Fasasi), during the Ramadan season.
In a post on his official X account, Vector highlighted Sound Sultan’s subtle demonstration of his Muslim faith, which became more noticeable during Ramadan.
He further acknowledged the late artist’s ability to connect effortlessly with people from diverse backgrounds.
Vector shared an old interaction with Sound Sultan, stating:
“He was one Muslim you hardly remembered was Muslim until Ramadan… he moved through life blending peacefully with everyone. This Ramadan brought him to mind… may all our prayers for good be answered with goodness.”
Sound Sultan had been battling Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and was reported to be receiving chemotherapy in the United States as of May 12, 2021. He passed away on July 11, 2021, at the age of 44.
Through the tribute, Vector emphasized the lasting legacy of Sound Sultan, particularly his humility, faith, and genuine ability to resonate with people from all walks of life.
