OpenLife reports that media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has drawn attention to social trends in Lagos, commenting on both ritual services being promoted online and the prevalence of married individuals in same-sex relationships.
During his appearance on The Clarity Zone Podcast, Chude spoke about the rise of ritual-related content on social media platforms.
He observed that some individuals openly advertise ritual and native medicine services, which often receive engagement from users.
“Abi them say people are advertising rituals on TikTok. Ritual is advertised on TikTok,” Chude said.
He added, “Native medicine, I have seen three people advertising, and people are engaging. One of the women was live from her shrine. And people were like, ‘Mama, how can I reach you?’ with a phone number.”
Chude also addressed speculation regarding his sexuality, which followed the release of his interview with Television Continental (TVC).
“When the TVC interview came out, people were saying maybe I’m gay. I’m like Lagos is full of married gay people,” he stated.
Chude Jideonwo’s comments shed light on some of the unusual trends and social dynamics in Lagos, showing how social media has become a space where both everyday practices and private lives attract attention.
