OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nigerian international Victor Boniface has publicly rejected false social‑media claims that he tested positive for drugs and received a two‑year ban from football.
A viral post circulating online alleged that the Super Eagles forward had been suspended by FIFA after supposedly testing positive for “hard drugs, cocaine to be precise,” and even questioned the behaviour of Nigerian public figures.
Boniface, who plays for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, immediately hit back at the accusation.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he responded to the troll behind the post with the pointed message:
“Hope you get better lawyer?”
A remark that made it clear he considers the claim baseless and potentially defamatory.
There has been no official announcement from FIFA or any credible football authority confirming a positive drug test or disciplinary ban against Boniface.
His response was widely praised by fans, many of whom commended him for replying with both humour and firmness while warning about the harm of spreading unverified information online.
As the controversy fades, Boniface remains focused on his football career, leaving the false allegations behind.
