<h4>Tax Consultants In Fresh Trouble<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> has reliably gathered that tax consultants in Delta State are currently not smiling&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Available information says the governor of the State&comma; Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has tightened the noose of regulations to curb over spending in revenue generation&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;According to a fresh directive&comma; all<strong> tax<&sol;strong> consultants who have been in charge of generating revenue for ministries&comma; departments and agencies are directed to reapply to the management of the Delta State <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;google&period;com&sol;">Revenue<&sol;a> Services&comma; as the board has been given the statutory right to generate revenue for the state&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;This is in a bid to harmonize the collection of tax&comma; fees and levies&period; All who manage generation of revenue must be under the board of Delta State Revenue Services&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The statement was made last week by the chairman of the board&comma; Sir&period; Monday Onyeme&comma; in a meeting between board members and tax consultants of MDA&&num;8217&semi;s at the conference centre of the headquarters<br &sol;>&NewLine;The chairman&comma; informed the consultants that the exercise of harmonization is not to witch-hunt anyone but to enable the management to be at the same page with the consultants&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He also asked the consultants to submit their credentials which include their award of contract letters&comma; their accreditation letters and their memorandum of agreements for proper evaluation to ascertain the genuineness of their companies and those who have previously performed satisfactorily will become consultants for the board&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The chairman&comma; who was represented by the secretary of the board&comma; Chief Mike Edegware&comma; informed the consultants&comma; saying&colon; &&num;8220&semi;Revenue generation is a determinant of revenue allocation&comma; if we lost revenue&comma; we lost allocation&period; Therefore&comma; those who would eventually become consultants for the board should put in more effort to increase the tax net&semi; it doesn&&num;8217&semi;t necessarily mean increasing taxes but bringing more people to be captured into the tax net&period;”<br &sol;>&NewLine;He assured them that the board was going to be part of the process of monitoring and seeing that they run their operations seamlessly and also ensuring there was a singular reward system that puts everyone on the same platform&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Also&comma; the Director of Operations&comma; Mr Monday Ojulari&comma; told the consultants that before their applications would be considered&comma; they must submit their tax clearance certificates&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
