Mike Pence To Declare Trump’s Election Loss In Congress Today

Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States of America would declare Trump’s loss today
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Mike Pence, the 48th and current vice president of the United States, who assumed office on January 20, 2017, would meet Congress on Wednesday.
This online medium gathered that his strategy of obsequiousness to President Donald Trump has come unstuck. In a Constitutional twist generations in the making, Pence will Wednesday preside over a Joint Session of Congress that will end with him ceremonially declaring Trump’s election loss, which his boss still refuses to acknowledge.

The vice president has spent much of the past four years showering Trump with the praise the President craves, paying tribute in ecclesiastical tones, and gazing at him adoringly. He lauds the commander in chief as a “good man,” fawns over Trump’s “broad-shouldered” leadership and paints his disastrous response to Covid-19 as a model “seamless” government effort. Pence, an evangelical Christian, also eagerly excused Trump’s moral failings and insults to conservative dogma, apparently in the hope of enlisting his voters for a future White House run. (Failing that, the MAGA crowd will also be the key to riches for the former radio talk-show host as he reenters private life.)

Almost uniquely in the President’s inner circle, Pence had long managed to avoid the wrath of a boss who turns on everyone. No longer. Trump, who met his VP on Tuesday and was seen in animated conversation with him in the Oval Office the day before, seems to be having trouble understanding why Pence can’t just disregard the fact that President-elect Joe Biden won the presidency by 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

Pence’s team says he will follow the Constitution and the law — but TV pictures of him congratulating Biden as the next president could be ruinous to his political hopes.

“I hope Mike Pence comes through for us, I have to tell you,” Trump said in Georgia on Monday night, in words that must have turned Pence’s soul cold. One way or the other on Wednesday, the VP’s tightrope act will crash to earth.
