Lagos Waste Management Authority establishes an academy

Lagos Waste Management Authority, LAWMA,  an agency of Lagos  Government, statutorily charged with solid waste management, has established an academy.

The academy is to provide quality education, proper engagement, adequate sensitisation for strategic decisions about waste management in the State.

It is the first of its kind by any waste management authority in Nigeria. LAWMA Academy provides a knowledge hub for credible hands-on tutelage and certification in solid waste management.

The Academy offers Internship programme, Organisational Training, Waste Management Specialty Training in, Summer School, Waste Summit and Waste Competition.

As a result, the Academy will partner government, academia and institutions for a workable reform in the waste sector.
