<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that Nigerian civic advocate and media reform champion, Randy Peter Akah,<br />
widely recognized as a dynamic political activist and influential content creator, was nominated to attend and participate in the <strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">UNESCO</a></strong> African Journalism Education Network (AJEN) Conference held in Accra, Ghana, in September 2025.</p>
<p>The high-level conference convened journalism educators, media professionals, policy experts, and development partners from 17 African countries, alongside representatives from European institutions, to advance discussions on strengthening journalism education, media ethics, press freedom, and democratic accountability across the continent.</p>

<p>Speaking on the significance of the event, Akah highlighted the critical role journalism plays in sustaining democracy across Africa.</p>
<p><strong><em>“Strong democracies depend on credible journalism. Investing in journalism education is investing in accountability, transparency, and informed citizen participation across our continent,”</em> </strong>he stated.</p>
<p>His participation further reinforces his commitment to bridging civic advocacy with responsible media engagement, ensuring that democratic conversations remain rooted in facts, inclusion, and institutional accountability.</p>
