Delta State Education Commissioner, Patrick Ukah‎, Tours Round Schools as Secretary Commends Primary Six Resumption

&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Delta State Commissioner for Education&comma; Patrick Ukah&comma;‎ has begun an on-the-spot assessment tour around schools in Delta this week&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">This followed the directive of governor Ifeanyi Okowa to schools to resume in the State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">The Honourable Commissioner’s tour is to ensure all <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">safety mechanism<&sol;a> are in place in all the schools in Delta State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Our primary schools will be resuming this week&period; &nbsp&semi;I will be on tour to see things for myself especially COVID-19 &nbsp&semi;rules compliance&comma;” he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Meanwhile&comma; the <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wsj&period;com">Education<&sol;a> Secretary of Okpe Local Government&comma; Mrs Mabel Ometan&comma; has commended the Delta State Government for directing the resumption of pupils in primary six&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Ometan made the commendation in Orerokpe on <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Monday<&sol;a> while on a supervision tour of primary schools in the local government&period; She monitored the compliance of turn out of pupils&comma; teachers and guidelines in ensuring safety against COVID-19&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">She described the turn-out of teachers as impressive and praised the efforts put in place to curb the spread of the COVID-19 in ensuring the proper spacing of pupils in a class and washing of hands before entering into the school premises&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p class&equals;"wp-block-paragraph">Most of the headmasters and headmistresses complained of lack of funds to clear up overgrown grasses&period; They pleaded with the state government to assist the schools with funds and manpower for a conducive learning environment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
