Gunmen attack labour party meeting

OPENLIFE NIGERIA reports that unknown gunmen attacked members of the Labour party (LP) in Aninri and Awgu local government areas of the Enugu state.

The incident occured on Sunday afternoon, September 4 during their monthly Ward meetings.

The gunmen invaded the meeting venue while shooting indiscriminately.

Enugu LP governorship candidate, Hon Chijioke Edeoga confirmed the incident.

Although no one was killed, some members of the party were wounded, while cars were vandalized and other property destroyed.

“The gunmen shot indiscriminately, causing panic. Chairs and canopies were destroyed, cars of members packed were also vandalised.”
