OpenLife Nigeria reports that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been honoured in South Korea with the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.
On Thursday, Jonathan arrived in Seoul, South Korea, ahead of the April 11 World Summit 2025 and the formal presentation of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.
Acknowledging the gesture, Jonathan thanked the Korean Government, Nigerian Embassy officials as well as the Sunhak Peace Foundation and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), organisers of the programmes, for their kind courtesies and warm reception.
Jonathan who was Nigeria’s President between May 5, 2010 and May 29, 2015 appreciated the award saying
“I am hugely grateful for the Founder’s Sunhak Peace Prize that was presented to me today, at an official ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
“This honour belongs to every Nigerian who believes in the possibility of peace and to every African working selflessly for the progress and advancement of our continent.
“I congratulate other awardees and thank the co-founder of the Universal Peace Federation, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the Sunhak Peace Prize Foundation, as well as my wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, for her love and support. “
