FG shuts down federal secretariat

<p><strong>By Doris Israel Ijeoma<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>The Federal Government has shut down the federal Secretariat complexes in preparation for Nigerian 61st independence celebration&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>All workers occupying Phases 1-3 of the complex must leave their offices by 2 pm 0n Thursday &comma; September 30&comma; 2021&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation&comma; Folashade Yemi-Esan&comma; disclosed the government’s decision in a circular titled&comma; &OpenCurlyQuote;Closure of Federal Secretariat Phases 1-3 on Thursday&comma; September 30&comma; 2021&comma; by 2 pm&period;’<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The statement partly reads&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;As you are aware&comma; the 61st independence anniversary of Nigeria is scheduled to hold on Friday&comma; October 1&comma; 2021&comma; and activities have been lined up to mark the event at the Eagles Square the same day&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;In line with security arrangements for the event&comma; the Federal Secretariat complexes&comma; Phases 1-3 will close for business with effect from 2 pm on Thursday&comma; September 30&comma; 2021&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Accordingly&comma; all offices whose ministries&comma; departments&comma; and agencies are located within these office complexes are expected to vacate the premises on or before 2 pm on Thursday&comma; September 30&comma; 2021&period;”<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; major roads leading to the square will also be closed to traffic on Thursday evening to enable security agencies to secure the venue ahead of the programme&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h1><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;killings-igbo-day-of-mourning-declared-see-date&sol;"><span style&equals;"color&colon; &num;339966&semi;">Killings&colon; Igbo Day Of Mourning Declared&comma; See Date<&sol;span><&sol;a><&sol;h1>&NewLine;<p>High-rise buildings overlooking Eagle square will also be closed for security purposes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to lead top government officials and friends of the country to the event&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Federal Ministries of Nigeria are civil service departments that are responsible for delivering various types of government service<&sol;p>&NewLine;
