Fears About Segun Osoba?

Fears about Segun
In a recent report, Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, congratulated the former governor of the State and the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Aremo Olusegun Osoba over a successful knee replacement surgery.
Abiodun, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, said that the elder statesman who underwent the surgery in the United Kingdom on Thursday 30th September is recuperating very well.
The governor had, during his short trip to the United Kingdom, visited Chief Osoba ahead of the surgery and also spoke to him before and after the procedure.
Prince Abiodun, who equally spoke with the former Governor before the celebration of the country’s 61st independence anniversary on October 1 said Baba was in high spirits.
The governor thanked the Almighty God for granting Chief Osoba good health to contribute to nation-building and further prayed God to grant the former governor a long life and usual vibrancy.
Abiodun noted that though Chief Osoba was absent at the independence celebration, his felicitations and encouragement reinforced the vision that Nigeria as a country will attain greatness.
The governor quoted the APC leader as saying that “Nigerians should rally around the leaders both at the federal and state levels, declaring that the country will overcome its present challenges.”
However, between then and now, not much has been heard of the astute politician who has occupied several public offices with his integrity records intact.
Many are concerned about his well-being. Many are praying and many are asking questions.
In a short conversation with OpenLife Sunday morning, a serving Senator from the South West {Name withheld} maintained that the silence about Osoba is worrisome.
He alluded to what was earlier reported in the media to the effect that Nigerian politicians seem unconcerned with the health of the APC leader who is believed to be recuperating in the United Kingdom.
Like his political compeer, the National Leader of the APC, Chief Bola Tinubu, Osoba also travelled to London for a knee replacement surgery.
However, findings revealed that several months after, no politician in Ogun State has deemed it necessary to visit the former governor.
Either from Ogun State or other parts of the country, the octogenarian has not been visited, in their usual style, by politicians, especially his beneficiaries from his home state.
“I cannot confirm his present state of health. I am also not sure his condition is of any importance to Ogun political stakeholders, apart from the governor.
“We were told the surgery was successful and he is recuperating but by now, we ought to have been seeing signs of his activities to be sure that things are getting better,” the Senator stated.
