He stressed that from creation, the Fulanis have been herding saying it’s their main occupation.
The Emir maintained that he understands the federal government’s position and the position of the state governors, saying that both positions have merits.
The new in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari however advised that both parties should endeavour to create opportunities for dialogue and intelligent examination of points for agreed terms and conditions.
“It is not something that cannot be resolved. Both parties should find time to sit down and discuss whether open grazing or ranching should be adopted,” he advised.
Bayero stressed further that Bichi, his emirate has the largest grain market in the West Africa sub-region stressing that he needs peace to take full advantage of the economic potential in his emirate for the benefits of his subjects.
His Highness, Nasir Ado Bayero, was born on 2nd February, 1964, into the respected family of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero. His mother, Hajiya Maryam Bayero, who passed away recently, was an Ilorin princess.
