Glo Celebrates 23rd Anniversary With Fitfest 2026 Sports Competition For Staff Members In Lagos

OpenLife News reports that Globacom, one of the largest mobile network operators in Nigeria, with tens of millions of active subscribers with record of being  the first network to introduce per-second billing in Nigeria including a high-capacity submarine fiber-optic cable connecting the UK to Nigeria, has marked its 23 anniversary.

On Saturday, staff members of the company  trooped to The Stable, Surulere, for a day of sports and fun to mark the company’s 23rd anniversary.

Tagged Glo Fitfest 2026, the event brought employees together in a friendly but competitive atmosphere to celebrate more than two decades of the telecoms giant.

Games, Colours And Team Spirit

Dressed in specially made colourful T-shirts, staff competed across several games including table tennis, Big Ludo, Big Snooker, Beer Pong, Sack Race, Big Ayo, and a keenly contested football tournament.

Departments were grouped into clusters to promote teamwork and bonding among workers from different units.

“The relaxed and convivial atmosphere allowed Glo staff to dance and have fun at every opportunity,” one staff member said.

Football Takes Centre Stage

The football competition was the highlight of the day, generating the most rivalry and excitement.

Some teams even flew in their star players from outside Lagos to boost their chances.
