Yobe Commissioner, Yahaya Abubakar, visits recruitment centre, reassures fairness

Yobe Commissioner of Police, Yahaya Sahabo Abubakar, on Tuesday, September 1, visited the centre of the ongoing nationwide Police enlistment.

This was disclosed in a  statement signed Assistant Superintendent of Police, Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer.

In the statement, Abdulkarim stated that “The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command Yahaya Sahabo Abubakar, psc,  visited the venue of the exercise. He accessed and appreciated the progress made so far by the screening committee. “He also interacted with various stakeholders on challenges during the process. Incidentally, there was none.”

 Further,   Abdulkarim said that the 17 Local Government Area of the State have representatives.

Also on ground are officers from  the Federal Character Commission and the State recruitment officials.

“They have been quite professional in the enlistment exercise which has been hitch free.

Meanwhile, Abdulkarim noted that as of 1st September, 3524 applicants  from  13 out of the 17 Local Government Areas in the state have been screened.

 The Commissioner who was impressed with the turn out of applicants assured them of transparency. He also promised to ensured the environment remains secured for smooth screening.

Speaking, the Commissioner further assured applicants of fairness. He warned that on no account must applicants give bribe to be enlisted.

“It is free. Don’t give bribe to anybody. We will disqualify anybody who gives bribe,” he warned.

 In another development, the Commissioner, in continuation with the Yobe State trees planting campaign 2020 against Climate Change and desertification in the state, flagged-off trees planting in the Command on August 28.

The exercise has been replicated in the various Area Commands and Police Divisional Headquarters in the state.
