Railway Police Command arrests rail vandals, vows to curb sabotage

&NewLine;<p>Railway Police Command has arrested rail vandals across railway outlets in Nigeria&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong> <&sol;strong>The arrest is in line with the spirit and letters of Operation Puff Adder of the Inspector General Police&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">IGP Mohammed A&period; Adamu<&sol;a>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The IGP’s operational code is aimed at nipping all criminal activities in the bud&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Accordingly&comma; the Railway <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Police Command<&sol;a> has stepped up its game to getting rid of vandals all over railway infrastructures nationwide&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In a statement by the Command’s spokesman&comma; Deputy Superintendent of Police Chris Umukoro&comma; the reactivated efforts of the Railway Command &nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>has yielded positive results as several vandals who specialize in the act of vandalism have been arrested across the <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;punchng&period;com">Divisions<&sol;a>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The arrests&comma; according to Umukoro were effected at Jos Railway Division where three male suspects were nabbed by officers and men of the Division&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The suspects are 28 years old Joseph Mark &semi; 29 years old Felix Monday Goyit&comma; and 25 years old Emmanuel Japdung&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>They all confessed to hail from &nbsp&semi;Jos South Local Government Area of &nbsp&semi;Plateau State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p> The suspects who were arrested at Anglo Jos behind <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Nasco Company<&sol;a>&comma; Jos&comma; Plateau State&comma; were in a tricycle with Reg&period; No&period; BUU 831 VC&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The tricycle was loaded with nine railway slippers&comma; property of the Nigerian Railway Corporation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<figure class&equals;"wp-block-image size-large"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;09&sol;Railway-Police-Command-arrests-suspects-&period;&period;&period;&period;&period;&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" class&equals;"wp-image-4877"&sol;><figcaption><strong>Oshogbo suspects<&sol;strong><&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In the same vein&comma; officers and men of Osogbo Railway Division have arrested 23 years old Abdul Hamid and Mustapha Ilias&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>They were arrested while vandalizing rail track by removing rail clips&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Exhibit recovered are two black bagco bags containing the rail iron clips along Ikirun area of Osun State&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Suspects have been arraigned in court&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Speaking&comma; the Commissioner of Police&comma; <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">Eboka Friday<&sol;a>&comma; warned vandals and other criminally minded individuals to desist from such act&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He warned that the command is ever ready to flush out such criminal elements from in and around railway installations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>He&comma; therefore&comma; solicits the cooperation of members of the public to volunteer useful information as the command cannot do it alone&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
