<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has taken a heartfelt moment to honor the late mother of her best friend and colleague, Funke Akindele, sharing a deeply personal story about her children and the love that left a lasting mark.</p>
<p>Funke recently marked the third anniversary of her mother’s passing, describing her as a selfless queen whose guidance, discipline, and wisdom shaped the woman she is today.</p>
<p>She thanked her mother for teaching her to believe in herself and for giving her the best possible education.</p>
<p>Iyabo Ojo’s tribute added a touching perspective. She recalled how Funke’s mother protected her children, Festus and Priscilla, when they were small.</p>
<p>“I thought I’d lose them both. But she said: ‘No. Not on my watch,’” Iyabo shared. She went on to describe her as “a great doctor and an even greater prayer warrior,”<br />
whose love and protection extended beyond her own family.</p>
<p>Even in moments of tension between Iyabo and Funke, Funke’s mother never wavered in her support.</p>
<p>“Even though Funke and I fought countless times, she never stopped calling me. Never stopped praying for me. She’d always say: ‘Emi o da si ija iwo ati ore re o. One day, e ma settle e. Omo mi nigbogbo yin.’ (My spirit will stand between you and your enemies. One day, it’ll settle. My child, I love you all.)”</p>
<p>Iyabo concluded her moving tribute with gratitude and admiration: “A beautiful soul she was. I will always love her. Rest on, mama.”</p>
<p>This tribute not only highlights the enduring love Funke Akindele’s mother had for her family but also shows how her kindness and prayers touched the lives of friends and colleagues in Nollywood, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.</p>
