A serial killer, Osita Ogbuiri, popularly known as Shina Rambo, has been gunned down by operatives of the Imo state Police Command.
Rambo who was consistently terrorising residents of Ohaji Egbema local government area and environs for years was killed by the command’s intelligence team.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, in a statement on Thursday said Rambo was killed after being trailed by the police to his hideout in Utuma/ Ukwa, a boundary between Abia and Cross River States.
The kidnap kingpin has been on the wanted list of the Command for his involvement in violent crimes.
He was neutralised during the gun duel while his accomplices escaped with bullet wounds.
Shina Rambo was among the escapees from the Imo Correctional Centre Owerri during the 5th of April, 2021 jailbreak, while serving life imprisonment for the murder of two persons.
The command spokesman added that one pump action gun with seventeen expended and four unexpended cartridges were recovered at the scene.
