Senator George Sekibo Empowers Youths

Senator George Sekibo gives scholarship grants to postgraduate students and skills kits to over 200 youths

OpenLife Nigeria reports that over 200 youths across Rivers East Senatorial District have benefitted from the Senator George Thompson Sekibo annual empowerment programme.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Soni Worgu, Special Assistant on Media to the Distinguished Senator.
According to the statement, the Senator’s Constituency project monitored by officials from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties in collaboration with the Nigeria Communication Satellite, was executed in Port Harcourt.
The programme, originally billed to take place last December, included the distribution of scholarship grants to postgraduate students and skills kits to enable the beneficiaries start business ventures.
The Senator representing the Rivers East Senatorial District, Senator Thompson George-Sekibo while disbursing the scholarships packages to 73 post graduate Students across the Senatorial District recalled his numerous constituency projects such as free medical outreach, distribution of computers to schools and motor cycles promised to do more to accommodate those who could not benefit from the present gesture.

Senator George Sekibo while presenting the scholarship grants, sewing machines, make up kits, catering kits to some beneficiaries, urged them to utilize the items and cash to generate income and better their welfare.
On his part, representative of the federal ministry of Special Duties, Engineer Bobby said the ministry is committed to ensure Constituency projects reach the people and commended Senator George Sekibo is for justifying the confidence reposed in him.
Engineer Bobby said “our function in situation like this is to monitor such programmes where ever they are held by our Legislators in their various constituencies. We can attest that, your Senator has done very wel and we urge you to make judicious use of the incentives.
