OpenLife reports that months after his release from Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos, Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Baba Ijesha Omiyinka has dropped a new song detailing what he says led to his imprisonment.
In the track, he points fingers at Princess, alleging that she orchestrated the events that put him behind bars.
According to Baba Ijesha, the saga began on April 21, 2021, when Princess invited him over with promises of food and an acting opportunity.
“The incident happened on April 21, 2021. Princess called me that she was preparing my favourite food, Pounded yam, crayfish, Egusi soup and bush meat. She had earlier told me about an acting job but said she didn’t want me to play my usual role in the movie.
She said she wanted me to act as a young guy because she wanted to take me to another level.”
He recalls arriving at her house and finding people waiting, with no movie set in sight.
“When I got to her house, I met some people there. She said the food was still cooking. While waiting, I started rehearsing according to what the alleged director told me, not knowing it was a lie, there was no movie anywhere; it was all set up.”
Baba Ijesha claims the situation was a trap, with several people working against him.
“I never knew they had already ganged up against me. Many more joined her in the process just to keep me in prison. One of them even said she would make sure I don’t come out alive but God brought me out again in good health.
A lot of elders and my colleagues in the movie industry betrayed me. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. Be careful of women.”
The song has reignited discussion about his conviction and the drama surrounding his prison term, offering a personal perspective straight from the actor himself.
