OpenLife Nigeria reports that popular Nigerian entrepreneur and outspoken social media personality Blord has once again sparked online controversy after making comments widely perceived as a subtle jab at activist and influencer VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Born originally as Linus Williams Ifejika, Blord is a Nigerian entrepreneur known for his success in cryptocurrency and digital business.
He founded the Blord Group with interests in real estate, fintech etc. His interest in the crypto space has earned the Anambra State entrepreneur a moniker “Africa’s Richest Bitcoin Vendor.”
On the other hand, VeryDarkMan, born originally as Martins Vincent Otse, is a 31 years old Nigerian social media influencer, activist, critic, and philanthropist who is a prominent figure in Nigerian civil and political rights.
However, Blord’s recent remarks were made during a promotional rant while Blord was advertising his gadgets.
Momentarily, the conversation quickly shifted from business to his long-standing online rivalry with VeryDarkMan.
During the rant, Blord appeared to mock what he described as the growing culture of “clout association,” where individuals allegedly leverage the popularity of others to gain attention or boost sales. In a statement that quickly went viral across social media platforms, he said:
“I didn’t know that someone can use another person glory. I’m just using VeryDarkMan glory to sell my gadget. Shoutout to the king of the rat. His glory is good. I’ll use VeryDarkMan glory to sell full container.”
The comment was widely interpreted as sarcastic and immediately triggered mixed reactions online. While some users believe Blord was speaking generally about influencers who ride on VeryDarkMan’s popularity, many others viewed the statement as a direct jab at VDM’s influence and dominance in Nigeria’s online activism space.
Background To the feud
The tension between both figures began after VeryDarkMan accused Blord of misleading Nigerians in his gadget business, alleging that refurbished or modified iPhones were sold as brand-new at inflated prices. Blord denied the allegations, and the disagreement quickly escalated into public insults, personal attacks, and legal threats — transforming what started as business criticism into a prolonged online feud.
As influencer call-outs and digital rivalries continue to dominate Nigeria’s social media space, Blord’s latest remarks have once again brought their unresolved dispute back into the spotlight.
As of the time of filing this report, VeryDarkMan has not responded to Blord’s remarks, despite the ongoing debates and reactions across social media platforms.
