OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Ondo State branch of Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria, MOUN, has urged its members not to occupy the streets come August 1, 2024 in response to the rumoured plans by some individuals or groups to stage a protest in the state.
The chairman of the union in Ondo state comrade Wole Olórunşuyì while addressing the members reminded them of the position of the National Secretariat of NLC as regards the purported protest.
He said that MOUN is a responsible affiliate of the Congress and would not do contrary to its directive.
He agrees that while individuals or groups has a right under the law to stage a peaceful protest for reasons best known to them, he said MOUN in Ondo state would not allow its members to be used as a decoy to perpetrate a well conceived and calculated plans to disrupt public peace.
He however, urged the government not to foreclose any available windows to negotiate for peace and also address the economy such that every responsible person will have a breathe of hope for a better future.
