Ondo State Chapter Of MOUN Dissociates From Rumoured Alliance

 

OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria, Ondo State branch has advised members of the public to beware of the rumoured alliance of motorbike association with certain governorship aspirant in the next election come November 2024.

The union made this statement in its meeting on Wednesday.

It stated  that “let us be quick to make separation between such associations and Motorcycle Operators Union Of Nigeria (MOUN), a registered trade UNION by the Registrar of Trade Union,Federal Ministry of Labour and Employmet. This is the only union for commercial motorcycle operation in Nigeria and an affiliate of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

‘We therefore take exception to this clandestine move by some elements who are out to deceive the public with scheming propaganda in order to achieve their false dreams for the November, 2024 governorship election in Ondo State.

Those seeking a hole in the quarter of politicians who have been on political pilgrimage and have been roundly defeated since the last one decade should seek a different platform for their gameplay.”

Responding to questions after the meeting, the chairman of the union stated that it was not a difficult task to recognize ‘political dandawee’ who goes to sleep after defeat, re – emerging in another apron years after and hunting for soft targets that will accompany them in another row of defeat.

He said such is normally a major characteristic of caravan politicians.

Quoting the chairman, he stressed that:
“Our members are focused and are committed to the programs and policies of the present administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa especially at making the business of Motorcycle transportation a core sector that will promote ease of transportation as well as providing opportunities for individuals and corporate entities that are willing to invest massively in the sector.”

The union stated that it was aware of the government move to priorize transportation in the state as it will play a pivotal roll in the economic life of the people.

Speaking after a meeting at its office within the NLC Secretariat annex on Wednesday morning, the chairman of the union, Comrade Wole Olorunsuyi urged its members never to condescend in any manner as this is the season of deceits.

“Who you follow determine what follows you, our commitment is irrevocably clear and we are prepared to demonstrate just that in the seasons to come at the glaring of the people of Ondo State” he asserted.
