NAOSRE confirms July 30 Virtual Conference date, tasks members on professionalism

&NewLine;<p>The National Association of Online Security Reporters&comma; NAOSRE&comma; has confirmed July 30 for its maiden virtual conference tagged <strong>eNAOSRE’20<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Speaking through its Vice President&comma; Favour Benson&comma; the association disclosed that the conference which has a theme <strong>&&num;8220&semi;TACKLING INSECURITY IN NIGERIA AMIDST COVID-19&colon; THE NIGERIA EXPERIENCE<&sol;strong>&comma; would be an opportunity for experience sharing on evolving attitudes and corresponding security challenges between NAOSRE members and leading security operatives across military formations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Benson disclosed that it is the beginning of the association’s engagement with security egg heads adding that the first edition would have in attendance former Inspector General of Police&comma; Abubakar Mohammed&comma; Lagos Police Commissioner&comma; Hakeem Odumosu&comma; heads of communication offices across military and civil society&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In an earlier remarks during the association’s maiden meeting&nbsp&semi; which held in Lagos on Thursday&comma; July 16&comma;&nbsp&semi; &nbsp&semi;the national President&comma; Samson Oki&comma; emphasized the central objectives of NAOSRE and urged members to focus on its core mission maintaining that the association must professionally present unbiased daily and hourly information to the public&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;In the discharge of our duties&comma; we must place national interest far and above our personal interest&period; We must be guided by our core objectives of presenting balanced security reports to the public&period; For a safe environment&comma; operatives need citizens’ co operation which can only be achieved through citizens’ sustainable confidence and trust&period; &nbsp&semi;We have a role to play to make that happen being that we are the custodian of information&period; What we present to the public is what they will consume&comma;” Oki said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
