Rosemary Nwabuoku Goes Home In Honour

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Mrs Rosemary Onyedumekwu Nwabuoku, who hailed from Ibusa community in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, has made her final journey home in honour.
The staunch Catholic was buried on Friday, April 14, 2023 in a colourful ceremony which began with Holy Mass at Saint Monica Catholic Church, Ogboli, Ibusa.
Speaking at the church service, Reverend Father Clement Obi of the Onitsha Arch Diocese remarked that late Rosemary Nwabuoku was a dedicated Christian who lived her life in line with doctrinal principles.
Father Clement Obi emphasized that the grace of God radiated round the life.
He noted that Rosemary died at 78, far and above the 70 Biblical recommendation saying that could only happen through God’s grace and mercy.
The essence of what we are doing here today is to encourage all of us that everything does not end here. The living must therefore be prepared at any time to answer God’s call because no one knows the time. The preparation means we must be closer to God to be able to make heaven. Rosemary was a baptized Catholic and was also committed.
She added extra 8 years because of God’s grace and mercy,” he stated.
In different remarks, her son and daughters said their mother was the pillar of support that enabled them to soldier on in various life engagements, adding that she would be greatly missed.
The son, Francis Nwabuoku, explained that he had a healthy conversation with his Mum on January 1, being new year day but only to receive a call on January 2 that she died in auto accident.
“I could not believe it. I was dazed for several hours, thinking maybe it was a joke. She meant so much to me. If there was anything I could have done to bring her back to life, I could have flown down to Nigeria immediately from Canada where I am based to do it. But there was nothing any one could do to bring her back to life. So, we give glory to God for the opportunity to tap and enjoy her love till she died. I am definitely going to miss her ,” he said soberly.
In her tribute, Mrs Vera Ugbeni, the first child said “My pain is unbearable and I don’t know if it will ever go away. I take solace in the fact that you impacted lot of lives. You will forever be in our hearts,” she said.
Other children, siblings, family members and inlaws recalled sweet memories of the late Rosemary whose canival-like burial in Ibusa attracted dignitaries from home and abroad.
