<p><strong><a href="https://openlife.ng/">OpenLife Nigeria</a></strong> reports that Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has disclosed how he received healing from a persistent illness at a programme at The Apostolic Church, TAC, Nigeria at the Maboju Assembly in Lagos State.<br />
Umo Eno who will be two years old in office as Akwa Ibom State governor on May 29 also disclosed that his governorship was predicted at The Apostolic Church in 1980.</p>
<p>The governor made this known at a Homecoming and Thanksgiving service at the Church on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at The Apostolic Church Nigeria Maboju Assembly, Maboju Area, LAWNA Territory, Lagos State.<br />
The governor was joined by top government officials, private sector officials, associates and friends.</p>
<p>During the service, The Apostolic Church Nigeria National Vice-President/LAWNA Territorial Chairman, Pastor (Dr.) Senior Gabriel Okpako Uyeh JP, commended Governor Umo Eno for his humility and simplicity.<br />
In his sermon titled &#8220;Greatness in Humility&#8221; (1st Peter 5:6), Pastor Uyeh emphasized that humility precedes honour and that true humility is recognized by others, not self-proclaimed.</p>
<p>He cited biblical examples, including David, Jacob, and the publican in Luke 18:10, highlighting the rewards of humility.<br />
Pastor Uyeh concluded that greatness in humility brings honour, abundant life, upliftment, riches, and grace for exploits.</p>

<p>Governor Umo Bassey Eno, in his speech, expressed gratitude to God for fulfilling a prophecy that was made in 1980, where a lady prophesied his governorship.</p>
<p>He described his visit as a return to <a href="https://openlife.ng/">&#8220;Bethel&#8221;</a> to renew his covenant with <a href="https://openlife.ng/">God</a>, encouraging believers to wait for God&#8217;s appointed time.</p>
<p>The Governor reflected on his journey, acknowledging God&#8217;s love and the importance of remembering those who have contributed to his success.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to the Governor, he said <em><strong>‘’having been in office for two years, the Lord laid strongly in my heart to return to &#8221;Bethel&#8221; to renew the covenant on this altar because it was in this assembly God gave the covenant in 1980.’’</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>‘’I have learnt from my youth not to forget those God have used for my life and that is one of the reasons why I am here. </strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>&#8220;I don’t know what tomorrow holds, I don’t know where the future leads me, but I know that Jesus who owns tomorrow is alive. I don’t know the storms I am going to get into, but I know Jesus is in the midst of it.’’</strong></em></p>
<p>In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, the governor recalled how his mother had rushed him to a prayer meeting in the church and he was relieved from a persistent illness.</p>

<p>The statement reads: <em><strong>“And so my mother attended that revival, and truly, by the grace of God, I got my healing in that revival. And so my mum started coming here with me.</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>“We stayed here. I went through school here, and so everyone around this neighbourhood will know us.”</strong></em></p>
<p>It would be recalled that Pastor Umo Eno was called to the office of an Elder on October 1995 by Pastor James Okon, the current The Apostolic Church Nigeria Lagos Area Superintendent.</p>
<p>Having attained the status of an Elder, he was posted to Babapomile Assembly to work with Pastor Mathew John to grow, nurture and develop the new Assembly. It was from here that he moved over to Akwa Ibom State where God has continued to fulfil His promises and prophecies upon his life, one of which being the reason for this Thanksgiving at TACN Maboju Assembly Lagos State.</p>
<p>At the Thanksgiving service, the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator <a href="https://www.vanguardngr.com/">Akon Eyakenyi</a>, were also in attendance.</p>
<p>The District Apostle and Area Superintendent, Pastor Solomon Nkopeti, in his welcome address, described Pastor Eno as a true son of the Apostolic vision who has shown that leadership is a calling of God.</p>
<p><em><strong>“Sir, you are hereby welcome back to this spiritual home where it all began.</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>“Your Excellency, we remember the days you walked and worked among us, not with trappings of power, but with humility of a brother in Christ.</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>“To the glory of God, you had served in this Assembly as a Faithful Brother, Committed Chorister, Dutiful Deacon, Eloquent Interpreter, Effective and Evangelical Elder, Chairman of the Building Committee, the First Official Chairman of the Church Welfare Committee, a Trusted Prophetic Channel and Leader of Prayer Defense Force among other responsibilities,”</strong></em> Pastor Solomon Nkopeti said.</p>
