OpenLife reports that the Ogun State Police Command has begun investigating reports that popular comedian and social media influencer Samuel Perry, known as Broda Shaggi, was allegedly shot while filming a skit in Sango-Ota.
The incident reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge. While details remain unclear, Broda Shaggi is said to have sustained a gunshot injury.
Despite social media reports, the police stated they could not confirm whether the incident actually occurred in Ogun State.
In a statement on Friday, spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information.
“For the sake of clarity, the command cannot confirm that Broda Shaggy was shot anywhere within Ogun State. Investigation into the matter has, however, commenced.
Members of the public are kindly advised to refrain from spreading unverified information and allow the investigation to run its course,” he said.
No official report has been made to the police by Broda Shaggi’s team so far.
The comedian was reportedly rushed to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where he received treatment.
Fans continue to express concern as authorities investigate the incident, emphasizing that accurate details will only emerge once the inquiry is concluded.
