OpenLife Nigeria reports that frontline House of Representatives candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), for Obingwa/Osisioma Ugwunagbo federal constituency for the upcoming elections in Abia state, Hon Pastor Chibuzor Nwosu, has tasked eligible citizens from the federal constituency on the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chijindu Emeruwa and made available to OpenLife Sunday afternoon.
It would be recalled that INEC had announced an extension of the ongoing continuous voters registration (CVR) exercise, alongside the introduction of a new self-service registration platform for first-time voters.
According to the Nigeria electoral commission, the CVR exercise, which was earlier scheduled to end on Friday, July 10, 2026, will now continue until Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Speaking on Sunday, Hon Pastor Chibuzor Nwosu lauded INEC for its numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening electoral process and encouraging citizens participation in periodical elections in the country.
He called on every eligible citizen from obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo federal Constituency and the larger Abia State to make use of the opportunity provided by the national electoral commission to register ahead of upcoming elections across the state.
Hon Nwosu reminded the citizens that permanent voters cards (PVC) empowered them to vote and to be voted during elections in the country.
While tasking the citizenry on the importance of the ongoing INEC’s Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) nationwide, Hon Pastor Chibuzor Nwosu lauded the recent introduction of a new self-service registration platform for first-time voters, adding that the new initiative by the nation’s electoral umpire will significantly encourage citizen’s participation in every democratic elections in Nigeria.
He said, “Voters cards vested every eligible citizens of Nigeria to participate in the nation’s electoral processes by choosing credible leaders during elections conducted by INEC.
“Without these voters cards, you cannot participate in the decision-making in the country and exercise their constitutional right conferred on them by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I urge them to visit INEC designated centers across Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo federal Constituency to get register and as well ensure they obtain permanent voters cards to be able to choose capable individuals to assume the leadership at all levels in this country” he posited.

Meanwhile, Hon Pastor Chibuzor Nwosu as reiterated his total commitment to sponsor good bills and make impactful laws in fostering even development and uplift local communities in obingwa/Osisioma/umunneochi federal constituency when elected into the green chamber of the national assembly come next year.
According to the leading NDC standard-bearer, “Not only making development-oriented laws, I will pursue good laws towards strengthening all statutory institutions of democratic governance in Nigeria.”
Hon Nwosu described his emergence as the NDC house of representatives candidate for the upcoming election as the beginning of a new chapter of progress and purposeful leadership in Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo federal constituency.
He therefore commended the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for upholding internal democracy within the party, urging party members and teeming supporters to continue to sustain their maximum support to NDC as it poises to win majority of elective seats in the next year’s main elections in Abia state and many other states in the federation.
