OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Commissioner, Ministry For Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Muhammad Sani Idris, has said that Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration is committed to addressing challenges in the educational sector.
The Commissioner disclosed further that the governor is attending to out-of-school children menace, improving learning outcomes, ensure growth, and development of the upcoming generation.
“As a matter of urgency, all the executive secretaries of agencies and 17 education secretaries of Local Education Authorities (LEA) under the Ministry should sit up to their responsibilities,” Dr. Idris said.
He gave the warning during the State Education Council meeting held in Damaturu which bring together all the stakeholders within the sector.
The commissioner charged them to be up and doing and avoid negligence advised them to discharge their duties diligently.
He said, ” the State Government would provide an enabling environment for the Education Secretaries to do the right things at the right time.”
On his part, the Special Adviser on Basic and Secondary Education to the Governor Mai Mala Buni, Honourable Mohammed Lamin stated that ” the current administration in the state would not tolerate incompetent Education Secretary’s failure to do the needful at any given time.”
