Fresh decade: ThistlePraxis strengthens board as Elizabeth Olofin becomes Executive Director

The board of directors  of ThistlePraxis Consulting, a leading innovative advisor for niche markets, has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Olofin as Executive Director, effective February 2020.

A statement signed by Edem Andah, Board Chair, ThistlePraxis Consulting and made available to OpenLife, stated that Olofin  is a thinker extraordinaire, as well as a seasoned researcher and leader. The statement added Olofin joins the consulting firm with over 10 years experience in Management positions within the corporate and non-profit sectors, creating and executing Strategy, Learning and Development solutions.

Before joining ThistlePraxis, the statement explained that Elizabeth’s professional experience spans working as an Independent Monitor with the Growth & Employment (GEM) Project of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment; Part-Time Lecturer, Entrepreneurship at Wavecrest College of Hospitality; Head, Training and subsequently Executive Director of FATE Foundation where she provided professional and enterprise development support for entrepreneurs.
Elizabeth is a member of Rotary Club of Lagos and also volunteers her time in providing employability skills to students and graduates. Elizabeth has also served as a Mentor, Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme- 2015 & 2016; Advisory Board Member, Nigeria International Technology Exhibition & Conference and is a Member, Humanistic Management Network, Nigeria. In line with her interest in Sustainability, she currently serves as a Member, National Steering Committee UNDP Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Programme (2018 – 2021).
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Masters in Educational Management, all from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and is an Alumna of the Lagos Business School (Senior Management Programme-SMP-33).  She was nominated and participated in the US Government sponsored International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) on NGO Management & Youth Programmes in the United States and has a Fellowship in Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD).
Elizabeth has commenced her training and leadership succession and will take over fully from Ini Abimbola, who will step down as CEO/Lead Consultant, from June 31st, 2020, after ten (10) years in her role as CEO. Ini is moving over to sit as a member of the Board of ThistlePraxis Consulting. 
Ini’s leadership has built the organization into an effective, globally recognized and well-managed entity with integrity and a clear sense of purpose, serving clients and partners whilst delivering tangible impact, and her steady, committed and continued presence on the Board is integral in the next growth phase
