DISCLAIMER: HOUSE OF REPS PANEL EXPRESSES SHOCK AS FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC UGEP WITH 142 STUDENTS SPENDS OVER N600M ON PERSONNEL, OVERHEAD

DISCLAIMER

The attention of the Management has been drawn to a false and misleading publication dated 3rd December, 2024, on the above subject matter orchestrated by “The Whisperer” an online publisher against our institution.

The institution, hereby issue this disclaimer notice to correct the false and misleading information published by “The Whisperer”.
For purposes of clarity and in order to better facilitate your understanding, we deem it not only necessary but also very expedient to chronicle the facts of our complaint as follows;
a. The Federal Government approved the establishment of a Polytechnic for Cross River State and it is to be situated in Ugep, the Central part of the state and to enhance its early take-off, the Federal Government approved the release of N2 billion for the project. The above institution being a new school, management has judiciously used the above take-off sum to embarked on a good number of capital projects to enhance smooth take-off. Take notice that, the institution was never given 20 billion Naira as take-off grant.

b. The above institution being a new school, management has been doing its best on social media, tv stations etc to attract students into the institutions and the 154 staff was an initial waiver given by federal government to recruit take-off staff. We also wish to state that, the issue of personnel cost is strictly handled by the IPPIS Secretariat, a Department under the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

c. It is worthy of note that, the Ugep people are very hospitable people and the management has been and is having a very cordial relationship with the people and they valued and respect this relationship.

d. The publication contained false and defamatory statements against our institution.

e. The statements were made without our knowledge, consent, or verification.

We hereby disclaim and reject these false and misleading publications. We assert that these statements are malicious, libelous, and intended to harm our reputation.

We urge members of the public to be cautious of these false publications and to verify information through official channels before accepting it as true.

We remain committed to our mission, values, and principles. We will continue to provide excellent services to our stakeholders and maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Thank you.
