“Cubana Chief Priest Took My Glory” – Man Links ₦500k Gift To Life Struggles After Viral Side-Eye Incident

“Cubana Chief Priest Took My Glory”

OpenLife Nigeria reports that a Nigerian man who first captured widespread online attention in 2022 after an encounter with celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has resurfaced in 2026 with fresh and unusual claims against the popular socialite.

The young man became an internet sensation when a brief clip of him receiving what many termed a “bombastic side eye” from Cubana Chief Priest during a public event went viral. The moment quickly generated extensive memes, jokes, and commentary across Nigerian social media platforms.

Following the widespread attention, Cubana Chief Priest gifted the young man ₦500,000, a gesture that was broadly praised at the time and perceived as an act of goodwill.

In 2023, the beneficiary later admitted he had spent the money recklessly, a revelation that drew mixed reactions online.

MAN CLAIMS GIFT CAUSED MISFORTUNE

In a new video circulating across social platforms in early 2026, the man made an emotional appeal, insisting that receiving the cash gift sparked ongoing problems in his life even suggesting it may have spiritually impacted his destiny.

He notably pleaded with Cubana Chief Priest to provide his bank details so he could return exactly the ₦500,000, clarifying that he “only collected ₦500,000, not millions” as some online users assumed.

In the video, he said:

“Cubana Chief Priest send your account back I want to return your money, your money has never done good to me. It’s almost as if the money collected my glory.”

The man also claimed that the original viral clip “still dey pain me” and threatened to pursue legal action if his concerns are not addressed.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACTIONS

@Sholzzola:
“I don’t even understand what going. It’s now this thought came to his mind after he’s spent all the money.”

@kaymicky007:

“No need to stress. Go him club order for drinks wey reach 500k. Once u pay tell dem to return d drinks say u no need am again den u waka comot d club. The account u r paying into is definitely his account so don’t come to social media to make post like dis”

@Airbooka:

“Once I see someone make a video about something they could send directly to the person, I already know it’s clout-chasing. What baffles me is that these guys always do it with folks far more influential than them forgetting that they live in a lawless country and can be locked away without due process.”

These responses illustrate the mixed public sentiment some skeptical of the motivation behind the claims, others critical of how the situation is unfolding online.

The latest claims by the young man reflect his personal experience and interpretation of events, while Cubana Chief Priest’s broader influence in the entertainment and hospitality landscape remains substantial.

The situation continues to develop, and any further resolutions will unfold in accordance with due process and public discourse.
