<p>Ahead of President Mumammadu Buhari’s broadcast to the people of Nigeria tomorrow, April 26, on fresh national directives on how to curtail the spread of Covid-19 , following the expiration of the extra two weeks lockdown, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, has recommended for inter- state lock down excluding movements of essential supplies like food and beverages.</p>



<p>In a signed letter dated April 24 and addressed to Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and chairman, Presidential Task Force on Covid-19,  ;the body of Nigerian governors also urged the federal government to consider, amongst other things,  ;internal free movement but with restrictions on large gathering and assemblies; over night curfew; lock down on flights and compulsory use of face mask in public.</p>



<p>The governors who spoke through governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and chair of the Forum, promised to co operate with the federal government in all areas to ensure speedy defeat of the deadly virus.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, as of the last account, precisely on April 24, ; about 2, 631, 839 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed out of which 182, 100 recorded as deaths in 213 countries around the world. That is the shocking statistics of Covid-19, a disease which broke out in December 2019 in Wuhan, a 11 million Hubei Province in China’s 7th largest city.</p>



<p>The disease, named Covid-19, which has been declared pandemic by World Health Organization, WHO, has negatively impacted economies, disrupting socio-cultural, religious, sports and financial structures.</p>
