Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former Anambra governor is rumoured to have passed on but family statement says it is not true
OpenLife Nigeria has learnt that Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former governor of Anambra between 1999 and 2003 is dead. But family statement, made available to OpenLife, says it is not true.
The statement signed by Barrister Cheta Chinwoke Mbadinuju reads:
“For the past hours, our family has been inundated with calls about the disheartening rumour, milling around of the death of His Excellency, Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju, (Odera), our Patriarch. This is to clarify the issues surrounding the rumour.
His Excellency, Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju is very much alive and doing well, enjoying his elderly age and managing his health challenges, as with any person in their mid seventies.
He and our mother celebrated their 49th year wedding anniversary just yesterday, 30th December, with close family and friends.
I want to appreciate all those who through calls, texts and visits have sought the true position of the circumstances. I thank everyone for their concerns, and caution those who are spreading the unfounded rumour to please desist from such unscrupulousness.
Only God has the power of life and death.
Once, more thank you all for your concerns; and wishing everyone a Prosperous New Year.”
