OpenLife Nigeria reports that before becoming a widely recognized digital comedy creator, Marlycoal, originally known as Faito Dare Akande, has demonstrated his versatility and stage presence through live stand-up performances.

This included his participation in the 2020 Next Naija Comedy Star audition held in Lagos, Nigeria.

Invited to perform as part of the nationally recognized comedy competition, Marlycoal took to the stage to deliver a live stand-up routine — a defining moment that highlighted his adaptability beyond short-form digital skits.
