Backlash Trails Nollywood Star, Femi Adebayo, Over Alleged Closure Of Estranged Wife’s Restaurant

Backlash Trails Nollywood Star

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo has come under public scrutiny following claims that he was involved in the sudden closure of a restaurant said to belong to his estranged wife.

The controversy gained momentum after a video surfaced online showing uniformed police officers alongside other security operatives locking up a food business identified as Iyanaladuke. The clip captured moments where diners and workers were instructed to leave the premises before the location was sealed off.

After the footage began circulating on social media, it triggered widespread reactions, with many users questioning the legality of the action and the role played by law enforcement officers in the matter.

SOCIAL MEDIA CLAIMS AND PUBLIC REACTION

The video was first posted by a social media account known as Yeye Kudi Courtroom, where it quickly attracted attention and sparked intense debate.

In the post accompanying the video, it was suggested that the closure may have resulted from a bank-related enforcement, though no official explanation or supporting evidence was provided.

Femi Adebayo and estranged wife

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the circumstances, the page went on to allege that Femi Adebayo was responsible for the action.

It further claimed that the actor deliberately pushed his estranged wife out of the business, subjected her to public embarrassment, and deprived her of her source of income. Additional claims alleged that she was left without accommodation following the incident.

As of the time of this report, no formal statement has been released by Femi Adebayo, the police, or any financial institution to confirm or deny these allegations.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF FEMI ADEBAYO

Femi Adebayo Salami is a prominent Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer, and director, best known for his work in Yoruba-language cinema. Born on December 31, 1978, he is the son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello.

Femi Adebayo studied Law at the University of Ilorin and was called to the Nigerian Bar before fully pursuing a career in entertainment. Over the years, he has starred in and produced numerous successful films and series, earning acclaim for projects such as King of Thieves (Agesinkole), which brought him both local and international recognition.

EARLY MARRIAGE TO KEMI ADEBAYO

Before his marriage to Iyanaladuke Aladunke, Femi Adebayo was previously married to Kemi Adebayo. The marriage produced children, though the actor has consistently chosen to keep details about them and the union away from public attention.

The relationship eventually ended, with both parties avoiding public commentary on the reasons behind the separation.

MARRIAGE TO IYANALADUKE ALADUNKE

Femi Adebayo later married Iyanaladuke Aladunke, a union that was largely kept private but admired by fans for its quiet nature. The couple reportedly had children together, although, in line with the actor’s long-standing preference for privacy, little information about their family life was made public.

Over time, signs of strain in the marriage became apparent, leading to their eventual separation.

CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THEIR SEPARATION

Although neither party publicly announced the exact timeline of their breakup, reports suggest that the separation occurred several years ago.

Since then, allegations and counterclaims relating to their marriage have occasionally surfaced online, mostly through social media commentators rather than verified legal records.

The recent incident involving the alleged shutdown of the Iyanaladuke restaurant has reignited conversations around the couple’s unresolved disputes.

Public opinion remains divided, with some urging caution until verified facts emerge, while others have called for transparency and accountability from all parties involved.

For now, the situation remains unresolved, as observers await official clarification from those directly involved.
