Aniagwu Charles, Delta State Commissioner for Information has identified talent development as vital for employment generation.
Aniagwu stated this on Thursday while playing host to a delegation of actors and actresses led by Mr. Emmanuel Iwala.
Iwala is the Special Adviser on Talent Hunt to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel.
The commissioner noted that talent development is critical in the generation of employment, curbing youth restiveness and enhancing social life. He added that Delta state under Okowa saw the need to develop an ultra-modern film village situated at Anwai.
The film village, according to him, would cater for the huge number of talented Deltans. He specifically referred to those who may not have been able to explore ways of showcasing their talents. Aniagwu assured that it is expected to engender peace, unity and development.
Aniagwu observed that Delta State and Akwa Ibom State are noted for hospitality. He was, therefore, not surprised that the Special Adviser led a powerful delegation to Delta State.
He expressed hope that the collaboration between the two states would move beyond hospitality and entertainment to economic development.
Earlier, Iwala, informed the commissioner that they were in Delta to explore the abundant resources. He stated that the enabling environment that made film production much easier is of interest to them.
He commended the Delta State Government for developing an all-encompassing film village. Iwala observed that the initiative would practically make the state a destination for film production as well as employ a good number of youths with budding talents.
