AFCON 2025: List Of Five Countries So Far Eliminated

OpenLife Nigeria reports that six teams have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as the group stage reaches its decisive phase.

As of the end of the first day, Matchday 3 on Monday, Botswana have become the first side to crash out after losing their opening two matches of the tournament.

They were followed by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, who also exited after suffering back-to-back defeats in their first two group games.

Zambia’s campaign ended on Monday night following a 3–0 defeat to tournament hosts Morocco, sealing their elimination from the competition.

Comoros became the first third-placed team to be knocked out after completing their group fixtures with a points tally that placed them below four of the other five third-placed sides.

Meanwhile, six teams have already secured qualification for the Round of 16. They are Algeria, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt.
