<h4>46 Years After&comma; Cuba And Somalia Restore Diplomatic Ties<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> has gathered that in the afternoon of April 4th&comma; 2023&comma; the Ambassador of Cuba to the Republic of Kenya&comma; Juan Manuel Rodríguez Vázquez&comma; presented to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia&comma; H&period;E&period; Hassan Sheikh Mohamud&comma; the Credentials accrediting him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>During the solemn accreditation ceremony in Villa Somalia&comma; presidential headquarters&comma; the Cuban ambassador conveyed to the Somali president a cordial greeting from the President of the Republic of Cuba&comma; Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez&comma; and from the Cuban people to the brother people of Somalia&period; He also expressed the willingness of the Cuban authorities to develop bilateral and friendship relations between the two nations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>By his part&comma; President Sheikh Mohamud welcomed the new Cuban Envoy to Mogadishu&comma; while thanking our country for its support in training Somali professionals&comma; and reiterating the willingness to work for the strengthening of bilateral relations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; it would be noted that this development is coming after Somalia and Cuba severed diplomatic relations for several years&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Abshir Omar Jama confirmed the diplomatic rapprochement in a Twitter post on Monday&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Having established diplomatic relations between 1972-1977&comma; we welcome the resumption of diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba governed by cooperation and mutual respect&comma;” he wrote&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>Source&colon; Cuba’s Representative Office Abroad<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;
