Yobe Police Command bursts kidnapping syndicate, suspects killed

Yobe State Police Command has burst a kidnapping syndicate.

The Command’s spokesman, Superintendent Dungus Abdulkarim, says three of the kidnappers have been killed.

According to Abdulkarim, the Command, in the early hours of  August 30, received information that kidnappers, numbering about 15 and  armed with AK 47 rifles stormed Kasesa community in  Damaturu Local Government Area.

However, on getting the information, the vigilante group in the area with active supports from Police officers ambushed the kidnappers. They killed 3 and arrested 4 while the victim was rescued.

Abdulkarim said “Presently, the corpses have been deposited at a morgue in the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu while investigations are ongoing.”

Sources reveal that the kidnappers reportedly collected NGN 4 million from the victim.

Meanwhile, Yobe Police Command has vowed to fish out all criminal elements in the State
