OpenLife News reports that President of LoveWorld Incorporated, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has revealed the heartfelt words he never stopped telling his mother in her last seven years on earth.

Speaking on Sunday during a church service, Oyakhilome announced that his mother passed on to be with the Lord on Friday morning.

According to him, his mother’s death is not a loss because she died in Christ.”I DIDN’T ‘LOSE’ MY MUM, In Christ, we don’t lose our loved ones,” he declared.

Pastor Chris said all his siblings were with their mother in her last several weeks, sharing memorable moments with her.

He said for the past six to seven years, he never had a moment with her without expressing deep gratitude for everything she did for him.

“For me, personally, in the last several years, maybe six or seven years, there was no time that I got to be with her without saying to her how much I appreciated her for the things she did for me.

Always, and she would say, ‘Yes, you always say that.’ But the more I said it, the more she loved it. And I loved to tell her because it was true.”

“I said, ‘Mommy, you know, I’m so grateful to you for all the things you taught me. Thank you for teaching me how to brush my teeth. Thank you for teaching me how to dress. You and Dad taught me so many things. I’m so grateful to you.’

The cleric said he often thanked his mother for giving them a home where they could know Jesus Christ.”So I looked at her and said, ‘You know, I’m preaching today to the whole world, but it’s because of you and Daddy.

Thank you for giving me and my siblings a home where we could know Jesus Christ. Thank you for showing us the right path. If you didn’t do that, I don’t know what would have happened.

“But thank you for doing it.”

“I said that to her again and again, at least in the last seven years. I would say that to her constantly. And all these past few weeks, it seemed obvious that maybe the time was near.

“But I just wanted her to know, again and again, how grateful I was.”

Pastor Chris said he is not eulogizing his mother yet, but described her as amazing, sweet and one of a kind.

He said on his own, he often thanked God for the home where he grew up, for the courage his parents had to read the Bible to them, correct them and take them to church.

While urging his siblings to be thankful, he noted that many people lost their parents while still very young, but they were privileged to have theirs all these years.

Correcting the narrative that he lost his mother, the man of God quoted the scriptures: “You know, somebody said, ‘Pastor Chris loses Mom.’ No, I didn’t lose Mom. In Christ, we don’t lose them. You only lose the ones that didn’t believe in Jesus Christ. No, we don’t lose them.

The Bible says, whether we are present or absent, we are the Lord’s. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

“Soon as she was absent from the body, she was immediately present with the Lord. How glorious.”

He said the family will announce the funeral arrangements soon, adding that he looks forward to a celebration of life for his mother.He also thanked members who have already sent condolence messages.
