Seriake Dickson Takes NDC’s Prospects Overseas

OpenLife News reports that the United Kingdom Chapter of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of the party after a high-level meeting with the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, in London.

The NDC-UK Executive Committee paid a courtesy visit to Dickson at the London Park Lane Hilton Hotel on Saturday, where members of the chapter and representatives of the Nigerian community across Great Britain and Ireland interacted with the former Bayelsa State Governor.

The meeting was part of Dickson’s tour of Europe to galvanize diaspora support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He was in London while returning to Nigeria from the Netherlands, where he had inaugurated the NDC Netherlands Chapter.

Addressing party faithful, Dickson briefed them on developments within the NDC, its progress since formation and preparations for the forthcoming elections.

He expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and presidential ticket, believed to be that of Mr Peter Obi and Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and urged electoral institutions and officials to uphold integrity, fairness, responsibility and patriotism throughout the electoral process.

Responding, the NDC-UK Country Chairman, Princewill Urum, thanked Dickson for his leadership and reaffirmed the commitment of the UK Chapter to advancing the objectives and programmes of the party.

Also present was the leader of COPDEM, Coalition for the Protection of Democracy, a Nigerian and global political network.

The COPDEM leader commended the direction and progress of the NDC and pledged to deploy its resources and personnel to promote democratic participation and a credible electoral process in Nigeria.

In a major highlight, Senator Dickson disclosed that he would return to the United Kingdom later this year alongside the NDC presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, his running mate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and other senior party officials for the formal launch of the NDC-UK Chapter.

A statement signed by Boniokoye Imegwu, Publicity Secretary, NDC-UK said the meeting ended on a convivial note, with participants expressing renewed commitment to the expansion of the NDC and its electoral activities.
