We Are Committed To Public Safety—Kebbi CP Umar Mohammed Hadeija

We Are Committed To Public Safety

‎OpenLife Nigeria reports that Kebbi State Police Commissioner, Umar Mohammed Hadeija, has assured the public of Police commitment to public safety.

This promise is coming on the heels of the arraignment of a male armed robbery suspect, Shafiu Atiku of Arewa Local Government Area.

Shafiu Atiku has been arraigned before the court for prosecution over an armed robbery incident in Birnin Kebbi.

‎The suspect was arrested on 15th January, 2026 at about 7:30pm after allegedly attacking a commercial motorcyclist, Jafar, with a machete and knife and forcefully dispossessing him of his Bajaj motorcycle at a location along the Bypass Road Birnin Kebbi, while the victim was lawfully engaged in his business.

‎Commercial motorcyclists, particularly those operating at night, are advised to exercise heightened caution and avoid conveying suspicious individuals to isolated locations, as such engagements have in the past resulted in the loss of lives and property.

‎The CP was quoted, in a statement signed by SP Bashir Usman, ‎Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, saying that the Command under the leadership of CP Umar Mohammed Hadeija,  “Reassures members of the public of it’s continued commitment to public safety. We also encourage the general public to promptly  report any suspicious activities.”
