Ward Councillors Are Strategic In Bottom Up Peace Initiatives, Buratai Tells NECF

<p><em>Ward Councillors Are important<&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>reports that the National Ex-Councillors’  Forum  of Nigeria&comma;  Yobe State chapter&comma; has commended Nigerian Ambassador to Republic of Benin&comma; Ambassador  Tukur  Buratai for giving insurgents good fight and degrading their stronghold during his tenure as Nigerian Chief of Army Staff&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The commendation came on Tuesday&comma; June 29 when the Forum&comma; led by the Chairman&comma; Honourable Abdulganiyu Mohammed&comma; paid Buratai  a courtesy visit at the Government Lodge in Damaturu&comma; Yobe State capital&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Forum  briefed Ambassador Buratai  about the aims and objectives of the association&comma; stressing that  they are closer to the people for necessary engagements on peaceful co existence&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>They explained that the courtesy visit was to show appreciation and gratitude to Lieutenant General Buratai &lpar;rtd&rpar;  for his efforts as Chief of Army Staff from July 2015 to January 2021&comma; which brought peace&comma; security and development to their communities in Yobe State and Nigeria at large&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>They commended him for establishing many strategic military units and <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">institutions<&sol;a> in the northeast that further deter terrorist activities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The team also congratulated him for his well-deserved appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin and presented him with a letter of appointment and honour as Patron of the Forum&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Responding&comma; Ambassador Buratai&comma; who was in Damaturu for a family visit&comma; thanked the Forum for the visit and accepted to serve as its Patron&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He commended the leadership and members for their continued commitment to peace and development in their wards&comma; Yobe State and the nation&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He stated that as grassroots people&comma; Ward Councillors have a strategic role in supporting the Federal and State Governments in fostering peace and security in their respective Wards&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
