Suicide Themed Content: There Should Be Visible Consequences For Such Alarming Trend—Damola Olatunji
OpenLife reports that Nollywood star Damola Olatunji is not holding back in calling and questioning the place of the Nigeria police in the ongoing controversy incident involving Mitchy and VeryDarkMan, the actor has openly slammed what he describes as the dangerous normalization of suicide-themed content.
Mitchy reportedly drank Sniper during a live broadcast, a move that has since sparked outrage and concern.
Clearly angered, Damola shifted the spotlight to the authorities, questioning why there seems to be no visible consequences for such alarming behavior.
“I don’t understand what the police are doing towards all this stupīd contents promoting sucide. It’s not funny anymore, and no one should be allowed to engage in such an act. Knowing that kids are also in the internet space”.
For Damola, this goes beyond clout chasing or attention-grabbing antics.
He believes the line has been crossed especially when young viewers are exposed to such extreme acts.
His fiery stance has ignited intense conversations, with many now asking the same question: where does entertainment end and accountability begin?
