South East Presidency Movement cautions Nigerians on COVID-19 safety

The South East Nigerian Presidency Movement, a movement that is dedicated to the actualization of Nigerian President of South East extraction in 2023, has cautioned Nigerians to adhere strictly to government approved safety guild lines to curb further spread of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The national co-ordinator of the movement, Chief Japhet  Anyanwu, handed down this caution in an exclusive interview with OpenLife.

He explained that the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic is unfortunate and worrisome saying that it has exposed the alarming deficits in the country’s health sector.

“I call on all Nigerians to embrace the social distancing modes as prescribed by government to stop further spread of the disease. Citizens must learn to wash hands regularly with soap and report to the NCDC whenever any of the disease symptoms is noticed,” he advised.

However, Japhet particularly frowned at the inadequate offering of testing cases across the length and breadth of Nigeria to determine accurate cases. He urged the government to step up more efforts in that direction.

He emphasized the importance of improved communication by the government to exterminate the prevailing confusion where citizens are confused on what to believe in the face too many unsubstantiated stories flying in the social media.

The South East Presidency Movement co-ordinator disclosed that lots of south easterners including citizens from other geo political zones of the country have keyed into the quest for Nigerian President of South East extraction in 2023.

“It is logical that the South East should be supported to produce the President of Nigeria in 2023. South East is a major geo political zone in Nigeria and that is what the Movement stands for. We have our office in Enugu and we have made tremendous progress,” he said.
