<p>Lagos State Police Command has said no journalist was intentionally arrested at the Ojuelegba scene of protest on Thursday.</p>



<p>Socialist Party of Nigeria had organized a protest against fuel price hike in which journalists were arrested.</p>



<p>Responding to National Association of Online Security Reporters NAOSRE’s inquiry, Lagos Police Command’s spokesman, <a href="https://openlife.ng/">Superintendent Olumuyiwa Adejobi</a> made these clarification</p>



<p>Said he; “The men were picked alongside with some protesters. They were immediately released by the <a href="https://openlife.ng/">Commissioner</a> when they produced their Identity Cards. So, no journalist was intentionally arrested by the Police.”</p>



<p>On Thursday, September 10, there were reports of unlawful arrest of four journalists. They were covering an organized peaceful protest on the fuel price increase in Yaba, Lagos State.</p>



<p>The protest was organized by the Socialist Party of Nigeria.<br>The arrested journalists were identified as Ifeoluwa Adediran of Premium Times and Abiodun Ayeoba of <a href="http://www.thisdaylive.com">Sahara Reporters</a>. Others were Awoniyi Oluwatosin of Objective Media and Daniel Tanimu of Galaxy Television.</p>
