Chief Nnamdi Nwigwe {Odenjinji}, KSC, the President, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos State, has applauded the administrative style of the executive governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying that as a group, the Lagos Ohaneze Ndigbo which he leads is not disappointed.
He stated this in an exclusive interview with OpenLife on Wednesday, May 14.
The businessman explained further that the trust the Lagos Ndigbo has on Sanwo Olu, which necessitated a wholesale vote supports for him during the 2019 general elections is not misplaced.
He however pointed out that some things need to be well managed especially in the distribution of palliatives.
“We supported Sanwo-Olu during the elections and we have no regret for doing so, at least for now. He has been managing Lagos very well. Developments in Lagos would have been more visible than what we currently see but Covid-19 has regrettably slowed him down,” the Idemili, Anambra State born chief said. He added that “Some are getting palliative while others are not getting. He should ensure equal distribution.”
In specific term, Nwigwe described Sanwo Olu’s decision to complete Ambode’s project as statesmanly, describing him as a politician who places the interest of the people far and above his personal interests.
“That he has decided to complete Ambode’s uncompleted projects says much about his commitment to ensuring that Lagos becomes the mega city Tinubu designs it to be. That is the reason we, the Lagos Ohaneze Ndigbo will continue to support and encourage his efforts,” he said.
Nwigwe admonished Ohaneze Ndigbo to take full advantage of the re invented Lagos State economy under Sanwo Olu and be law abiding in all spheres.
